Find the distance between 0,3 and -2-5 round nearest hundreth

Answers

Answer 1
The answer is 8.25
The formula for distance will be the √ (x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)². (as you can see)
Don't be intimidated!
Step one:
Take the two cordinates (0,3) and (-2,-5)
Step two: It doesn't matter which one you choose, but choose one to be your x1,y1 and another to be your x2,y2
In this situation I choose (0,3) to represent (x1,y1) and (-2,-5) to represent (x2,y2). DO NOT over think this, you got it!
Final Step:
Simply plug those numbers into the represented formula it should end up like
√(-2-0)²+(-5-3)²
Simply solve it yourself or use a calculator such as Desmos to find you answer

Hope this helps!
Find The Distance Between 0,3 And -2-5 Round Nearest Hundreth
Answer 2
I want to draw your attention to the connection finding the distance between two points has with one of the oldest and most ubiquitous theorems in mathematics: the Pythagorean Theorem. If you'll recall, the Pythagorean Theorem states that, in any right triangle, the sum of the squares of its legs is equal to the square of its hypotenuse (the side opposite the triangle's right angle), or more formally:

a²+b²=c², where a and b are the length of the legs of the triangle, and c is the length of its hypotenuse.

What does that have to do with finding the distance between two points? For that, I want you to take a look at the two images I've attached to this post. If we just plot the two points on the x-y plane and draw a line between them, the connection to Pythagoras isn't too obvious, but when we connect the x and y components of the points, it should become immediately clear. The vertical and horizontal components of the points combine with the diagonal to form a right triangle, and the distance is the length of its hypotenuse!

We can't apply the theorem yet, though; we'll first need to find the lengths of the legs before we can determine the length of the hypotenuse. For that, we'll need to find the distance between each of the points' corresponding coordinates. To find those, we just need to subtract those coordinates from one another. We find the distance between the x coordinates to be 0 - (-2) = 2 and the distance between the y coordinates to be 3 - (-5) = 8.

(Note that we could've chosen to do the subtraction the other way around, too, obtaining negative differences. Usually, we'd deal with these by taking the absolute value of the result, but in this case, our answers will get squared away - literally - by the Pythagorean Theorem.)

Now that we have the legs of the triangle, we're ready to find the hypotenuse. We enter our values in:

2²+8² = d²
4 + 64 = d²
68 = d²
√68 = d

(we've chosen d here to represent "distance," though it plays the same role c did in the other statement of the theorem)

And from there, you can use the calculator of your choosing to get a good approximation.

One last note: here's a generalization of everything we did here, now that you have some background for why it is the way it is, and where exactly it comes from:

For any two points [tex](x_1,y_1), (x_2,y_2)[/tex]:

[tex]d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2[/tex]

The circle described by the equation (x - 3)² + (y + 4)² = 9 is translated 5 units to the left and one unit up.
At what point is the center of the image circle located?

A) (-8,5)
B) (8, -5)
C) (2, -3)
D) (-2, -3)

Answers

Greetings!

Answer:

New coordinates are (-2, -3)

Step-by-step explanation:

First we need the centre coordiates. In (x - a)² + ( y - b)² = r² , a is the x coordinate for the circle centre and b is the y coordinate for the circle centre, so this means the coordinate of the circle centre is:

(3 , -4)

If moving to the left 5 spaces, then 5 has to be subtracted from the x coordinate:

3 - 5 = -2

Now moving one up you add one to the y coordinate:

-4 + 1 = -3

So the new coordinates are (-2, -3)

The formula for kinetic energy is shown. In the formula, m represents mass and v represents velocity. If mass is measured in grams and velocity is measured in centimeters per minute, what is the unit for kinetic energy
A) grams-centimeters per minute

B) grams-centimeters squared per minute
C) grams-centimeters per minute squared

D) grams-centimeters squared per minute squared

Answers

Hello,

Answer D

E=mv²/2 ==> gram*cm²/min²
BUT it should be JOULES!!!

The unit for kinetic energy, when mass is in grams and velocity is in centimeters per minute, is D) grams-centimeters squared per minute squared.

The formula for kinetic energy is given by KE = 1/2 mv², where m represents mass and v represents velocity. To find the units of kinetic energy, we need to plug in the units of mass and velocity into the formula.

If m is measured in grams (g) and v is measured in centimeters per minute (cm/min), the units for velocity squared will be (cm/min)². Therefore:

KE = 1/2 (grams) (centimeters/minute)²

When we square velocity (cm/min), we get cm²/min². Thus, the units for kinetic energy become:

D) grams-centimeters squared per minute squared (g∙cm²/min²)

 (−3.5)(−3)(−6.4) = -67.2

answer
−67.2

Answer:

-67.2

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplify the given expression (−3.5)(−3)(−6.4)

WE apply PEMDAS rule to simplify it

Lets start with parenthesis part

We multiply first two parenthesis

(−3.5)(−3)

Negative and negative becomes positive

(−3.5)(−3) is 10.5

Now we multiply it with -6.4. Positive times negative is negative.

[tex]10.5 \cdot (-6.4)= -67.2[/tex]

[tex](-3.5)(-3)(-6.4)=-67.2[/tex]

A presidential candidate plans to begin her campaign by visiting the capitals in 44 of 4343 states. what is the probability that she selects the route of fourfour specific capitals? is it practical to list all of the different possible routes in order to select the one that is best?

Answers

If the 4 states have to be in a specific order say ABCD, then the total number of different possible routes is:

 43P4 = 2,961,840

So the probability is:

1 / 2,961,840 = 3.38 x 10^-7

But if the 4 states can be in any order such as DBAC, ACBD etc, then the total number of different possible routes is:

 43C4 = 123,410

So the probability is:

1 / 123,410 = 8.1 x 10^-6

No I don’t think it is practical to list all the different possible routes to select the one that is best. We can simply use mathematical models to solve for that one.

Is the contrapositive of the following conditional true? If v≥4, then v≤4. yes or no

Answers

Sent the solution with explanation.

The contrapositive of 'If v≥4, then v≤4' is not true because it would imply 'If v>4, then v<4', which is logically inconsistent.

No, the contrapositive of the given conditional statement 'If v≥4, then v≤4' is not true. This is because the contrapositive of a conditional statement is always logically equivalent to the original statement. The contrapositive inverts and negates both the hypothesis and the conclusion. So the contrapositive of the original statement would be 'If v>4, then v<4', which does not hold true as a statement can't be both greater and less than 4 at the same time.

Contrapositive is the term used when the implication and its converse are both negated. In the context of the given conditional statement, this practice does not validate the original statement.

The concept of determining which reactant is limiting and which is in excess is akin to determining the number of sandwiches that can be made from a set number of ingredients. assuming that a cheese sandwich consists of 2 slices of bread and 3 slices of cheese, determine the number of whole cheese sandwiches that can be prepared from 44 slices of bread and 57 slices of cheese.

Answers

Given that a cheese sandwich consists of 2 slices of bread and 3 slices of cheese.

The number of whole cheese sandwiches that can be prepared from 44 slices of bread  is given by 44 / 2 = 22

The number of whole cheese sandwiches that can be prepared from 57 slices of cheese is 57 / 3 = 19.

Therefore, the number of whole cheese sandwiches that can be prepared from 44 slices of bread and 57 slices of cheese is 19.
19 sandwiches with cheese as the limiting ingredient. 22 sandwiches contain 44 slices of bread. 19 sandwiches contain 37 slices of cheese. The limiting ingredient is cheese.

Assume you have such a watch. if a minimum of 18.0% of the original tritium is needed to read the dial in dark places, for how many years could you read the time at night? assume first-order kinetics.

Answers

Given that the half life of 3H is 12.3 years.

The amount of substance left of a radioactive substance with half life of [tex]t_{ \frac{1}{2} }[/tex] after t years is given by

[tex]N(t)=N_0\left(\frac{1}{2} \right)^{ \frac{t}{t_{\frac{1}{2}} }[/tex]

Therefore, the number of years it will take for 18% of the original tritinum to remain is given by

[tex]18 \% = 100 \% \left(\frac{1}{2} \right)^{ \frac{t}{12.3}} \\ \\ \Rightarrow\left(\frac{1}{2} \right)^{ \frac{t}{12.3}} =0.18 \\ \\ \Rightarrow\frac{t}{12.3}\ln\left(\frac{1}{2} \right)=\ln0.18 \\ \\ \Rightarrow\frac{t}{12.3}= \frac{\ln0.18}{\ln\left(\frac{1}{2} \right)} = \frac{-1.715}{-0.6931} =2.474\\ \\ \Rightarrow t=2.474(12.3)=30.4[/tex]

Therefore, the number of years that the time could be read at night is 30.4 years.

Final answer:

You could read the time on a tritium-based watch in dark places for approximately 34.87 years before the tritium decays below 18% of its original amount, necessitating this calculation using first-order kinetics and the half-life of tritium (12.32 years).

Explanation:

To calculate how many years you could read the time at night with a watch containing tritium, we need to understand first-order kinetics and the half-life of tritium.

Tritium has a half-life of 12.32 years, meaning after 12.32 years, half of the original tritium remains.

The question specifies that a minimum of 18% of the original tritium is needed for readability in dark places.

To find the number of years you could read the time, we use the formula for first-order decay:

[tex]N = N_0(1/2)^{(t/T)[/tex],

where N is the final amount of substance left, N_0 is the initial amount of substance, t is the time in years, and T is the half-life (12.32 years in this case).

We rearrange the formula to solve for t:

t = T*log(N/N_0)/log(1/2).

Plugging in the values, assuming N/N_0 = 0.18 (18%), and T = 12.32 years, we get:

t = 12.32*log(0.18)/log(1/2) ≈ 34.87 years.

Therefore, you could read the time on a tritium-based watch in dark places for approximately 34.87 years before the tritium decays below the level necessary for visibility.

Use the variable t for the number of teeth in one row. Write an expression to determine the number of teeth in a sharks mouth.

Answers

if t represents the number of teeth in one row...and a shark has 3 rows of teeth...then the expression to find out how many teeth he has in his entire mouth is : 3t
Final answer:

The total number of teeth in a shark's mouth can theoretically be determined by multiplying the number of teeth in a single row by the total number of rows of teeth. The multiplication will be defined by the particular shark species.

Explanation:

Assuming that we want to find out the total number of teeth in a shark's mouth and we know the number of teeth in one row (coded as t), we would need to multiply this number by the number of rows of teeth in the shark's mouth. For instance, if a shark has two rows of teeth, the total number of teeth would be 2t.

It is important to recognize that each species of shark might have a different number of rows of teeth, so without specifying the particular species, the exact total of teeth can't be computed but it would still be 't' times the number of rows. But in general, a Sand Tiger Sharks like Carcharias Taurus for example, can have around 3 to 7 rows of teeth.

Answers

The given equation is:

x y – 5000 = y

Rewrite this to create an explicit equation:

x y – y = 5000

y ( x – 1) = 5000

y = 5000 / (x – 1)

Derive to get dy / dx:

dy = - 5000 dx / (x – 1)^2

dy / dx = - 5000 / (x – 1)^2

So plugging in x = 6,

dy / dx = - 5000 / (6 – 1)^2

dy / dx = - 200

Answer:

[tex]\frac{dy}{dx}|_{x=6}= -200[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Demand equation [tex]xy − 5,000 = y[/tex]

To Find [tex]\frac{dy}{dx}|_{x=6}[/tex]

Solution :

[tex]xy- y= 5000[/tex]

[tex]y(x-1)= 5000[/tex]

[tex]y= \frac{5000}{x-1}[/tex]

Differentiating with respect to x

[tex]\frac{dy}{dx}= \frac{-5000}{(x-1)^2}[/tex]

[tex]\frac{dy}{dx}|_{x=6}= \frac{-5000}{5^2}[/tex]

[tex]\frac{dy}{dx}|_{x=6}= \frac{-5000}{25}[/tex]

[tex]\frac{dy}{dx}|_{x=6}= -200[/tex]

Hence [tex]\frac{dy}{dx}|_{x=6}= -200[/tex]  =T-shirts per dollar

The missing mean square (MS) for the treatment is 252.64, and there were 6 blocks used in the experiment. The p-value is less than 0.01, indicating a statistically significant effect of the treatment.

To fill in the blanks of the ANOVA table provided, we will perform some calculations. The mean square (MS) for the treatment can be found by dividing the sum of squares (SS) for the treatment by its degrees of freedom (df). Hence, for the treatment:

MS treatment = SS treatment / df treatment = 1010.56 / 4 = 252.64

Given that the total df equals 29 and the df for treatment and error sum up to 24 (4 + 20), the df for blocks will be:

df total - df treatment - df error = 29 - 4 - 20 = 5

Therefore, the number of blocks used in this experiment equals the df for blocks plus 1, giving us:

Number of blocks = df blocks + 1 = 5 + 1 = 6 blocks

As for the p-value associated with the F-statistic, we cannot calculate the exact value, but it is indeed lower than the conventional alpha levels (0.05, 0.01). So we describe the p-value as being less than 0.01

Conclusions:

With an F-statistic of 29.84 and a p-value much lesser than conventional alpha levels, we can conclude that there is a statistically significant effect of the treatment on the outcome variable.

The specific p-value bounds are not provided, but given that it is very low, the results are statistically significant. Thus, we can reject the null hypothesis that there is no effect of the treatment.

Now let's say that you get a discount if you are a member. The membership fee is $86 leading to the discount hourly cost to be $25 per hour. If you rent for h hours, then you pay a total of 86+25h dollars

Writing 46h > 86+25h will represent cases when the nonmembership option is more expensive (and the membership option more cheaper). Solving for h will help determine when the membership option is cheaper.

The quadratic x^2-6x+66 can be written in the form (x+b)^2+c, where b and c are constants. What is b+c?

Please help me!!!!!!!!

Answers

Complete the square!

x^2-6x+66
=((x-3)^2-9) + 66
=(x-3)^2+57
so
b=-3, c=57
b+c=-3+57=54

The sum of b and c is equal to 54.

What is quadratic equation?

A quadratic equation is an algebraic equation of the second degree in x. The quadratic equation in its standard form is ax² + bx + c = 0, where a and b are the coefficients, x is the variable, and c is the constant term.

Given is the following quadratic equation -

x² - 6x + 66

x² - 6x + 9 - 9 + 66

x² - 3x - 3x + 9 - 9 + 66

x(x - 3) - 3(x - 3) - 9 + 66

(x - 3)² + 57

The given form of resultant is -

(x + b)² + c

On comparing, we get -

b = - 3

c = 57

Therefore -

b + c = -3 + 57 = 54

Therefore, the sum of b and c is equal to 54.

How do I solve this promblem

At first glance, this problem seems cumbersome, but the great thing about the properties of logarithms is that they allow us to break our problem down into chunks and sort through each on its own.

Let's look at what we've been given:

[tex]\log_3{(x^{20}\cdot \sqrt[3]{y^6} )[/tex]

We can start by using the property that [tex]\log_n(a\cdot b) = \log_na+\log_nb[/tex] to separate our single logarithm into the sum of two:

[tex]\log_3x^{20}+\log_3\sqrt[3]{y^6}[/tex]

Next, let's simplify the term [tex] \sqrt[3]{y^6} [/tex] into something a little more workable. We can turn the radical [tex] \sqrt[3]{\ } [/tex] into the rational exponent 1/3, which lets us obtainin a new form for the y term:

[tex]y^{6(1/3)}=y^{6/3}=y^2[/tex]

We now have:

[tex]\log_3x^{20}+\log_3y^2[/tex]

We can now use the property that [tex]\log_na^x=x\log_na[/tex] to bring the exponents on the x and the y out front and obtain our final answer:

[tex]\log_3x^{20}+\log_3y^2=20\log_3x+2\log_3y[/tex]
