Answer:

The Second Continental Congress was the convention of delegates of the Thirteen Colonies, which began its meetings on May 10, 1775, shortly after the outbreak of the War of Independence. It was a continuation of the First Continental Congress, which met during the previous year, 1774. The second Congress took over the military effort and slowly moved towards independence, finally adopting the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4 of 1776. With the formation of the army, the direction of its strategies, the appointment of diplomats and the signing of official treaties, the Second Continental Congress acted de facto as the Government of what would become the United States. With the ratification of the Articles of the Confederation in 1781, the Congress was renamed the Congress of the Confederation.

This congress named a career soldier and large landowner in Virginia, Colonel George Washington, commander in chief of the US forces. It also authorized the dispatch of an expedition to Quebec to dominate Canada and force his union to the Thirteen Colonies.

What was the main goal of the pan-african movement?

Answers

The main goal of the pan-African move was to get Africans all over the world to unite and work together for independence in Africa. I really hope this helps, good luck.

The main goal of the Pan-African movement was to encourage and strengthen bonds of solidarity between all indigenous and diaspora ethnic groups of African descent.

The Pan-African movement has its origins in the late 19th century and early 20th century, with a series of Pan-African Congresses that addressed issues of racial discrimination and colonial rule. The movement was instrumental in the fight for independence across the African continent and continued to advocate for the unity and development of African nations post-independence. It also sought to address issues such as apartheid in South Africa and the civil rights struggle in the United States.

The movement aimed to unify and uplift the people of Africa and the African diaspora, and to promote their interests and rights globally. This included the struggle against colonialism, the promotion of political and economic self-sufficiency, and the celebration of African culture and identity.

Key figures in the Pan-African movement included W.E.B. Du Bois, Marcus Garvey, Kwame Nkrumah, and Haile Selassie, among others. Their efforts contributed to the decolonization process in Africa and the empowerment of people of African descent worldwide.

Are women really treated unfairly?

Answers

I'm a girl/young woman, and from my point of view, I'd say it's kinda in between.

In the past, women were not allowed to vote, not allowed to fight in the military, and (If I remember correctly) not even allowed to get credit cards! So in terms of those things and others, I think women definitely have more rights then we did just a few decades ago.

At the same time, though, women are also treated unfairly. People call feminists (not saying all women are feminists tho) horrible things sometimes, which I think can be applied to some extreme feminists, but not all of them as a whole...There are also wage gaps, a big difference between what men and women earn in their jobs. I haven't heard of any application that has equal wages, but most jobs do, which is unfair to women who are probably working just as hard as men.

Some men also look down on women, thinking they're better than women and that women can't do anything as good as a man can. While some men fit into this category (and some women might too!), not all of them are this discriminant.

There are other things I want to say, but 1, it'd probably make this answer too long, and 2, I have no clue if Brainly will allow them :P

While I do feel like women have most definitely progressed throughout the years and have many powerful female figures (Such as Susan B. Anthony or Ida B. Wells), I still think there can be some improvement made. So, to answer your question, I think while women have earned many rights they deserve, there is still room for improvement.

But this is all matter of opinion I suppose. If someone has different views, I can respect that. This is just my own way of thinking.

How was Constantinople different from Rome?

a essay of Jamestown and Plymouth

Answers

Heres an essay I made last year.

The first settlers of the 1600's came to Jamestown in search of new land. This 17th century city was one of the few settlements that got us where we are today. Another discovering colony was the Plymouth colony, which discovered or founded the Americas. During these colonies adventures to find new land for religious freedom, and adventure there were many problems, failures, successes, and adventures that these colonies had to take to find their new land.
The goal of the Jamestown settlers was a simple but easy one. They were out to find new land, adventure, gold, and spices.
But their trip was going to be a hard one, battling the seas; starvation, disease, and even death were going to be problems on their journey to America. As many as 100 people set out on the ship to find new land. Some of the types of people on this ship were preachers, carpenters, barbers, bricklayers, sailors, and many more. During their adventure over the seas the settlers suffered from extreme starvation and were forced to eat rats on the decks of the ship, leather from shoes, and even wood after the food was completely emptied from the ship. When the settlers first arrived at their new land they weren't happily greeted, there were Indians that wanted to kill them, bugs that swarmed over the land, and marshy areas that could not be used. But this would all soon change when summer came around. Eventually the temperature came warm, bugs died off, and there was peace made between them and the Indians.
The Plymouth colony on the other hand, had an even better reason to find new land; they were out for religious freedom and a new life. But this would not be an easy task, for they too would also suffer from disease, starvation, death and battling the seas in search of new land. But when they arrived at Plymouth they were also unwanted by Indians. At this new land they found, bug infested land, swampy areas, and the Indians.

The Confederation Congress sold western lands to the public to pay war debts.  True Or False?

Answers

The answer is true that they did sell western lands to the public to pay war debts

Answer:

True.

Explanation:

The Confederation Congress had several economic problems. Congress could not pay its soldiers, nor buy equipment and weapons. With the lack of payments, many men left the congress because they saw no use in fighting for patriotism only while their family starved because of the lack of payments. To remedy these problems, Congress borrowed money, which increased its economic problems because it generated a large debt to other nations. For this reason it was necessary to sell Western lands to the public to pay war debts.
