Humans have relied on biofuels since they discovered fire. Biofuels are organic materials from plants and
animals. Wood, crops, and landfill mass can all be used to create blofuels. For centuries, blomass-any organic
matter, but mostly wood and crop waste-was burned to create heat. Today, blomass is used for creating the
energy we use for heat and cooking. Biomass is also used to create natural gas for fueling cars. Biomass emits
methane gas as it decomposes. That gas can be used to create energy or can be burned to create heat. Biofuels

C or B

Explanation:

Answer 2

Final answer:

Biomass, sourced from organic materials like plant and animal waste, is an abundant and renewable energy resource used for heating, electricity, and as a fuel for vehicles through biofuels.

Explanation:

Biomass is a term for the organic material derived from plants and animals which contains stored energy from the sun. It has been an integral source of energy for humans since the discovery of fire. Biomass energy is considered a renewable resource, making it a valuable alternative to fossil fuels in the production of heat, electricity, and even fuel for vehicles in the form of biofuels such as ethanol or biodiesel.

Common sources of biomass include wood, crop waste, and animal manure, which can be directly combusted or processed into liquid biofuels. Not only is biomass abundant, but it is also sustainable as it can replace oil and natural gas in several applications. When utilized properly, biomass can play a crucial role in reducing our dependency on fossil fuels and contributing to a more sustainable energy future.

Answers

The summary effectively paraphrases Jonathan Swift's satirical suggestion in 'A Modest Proposal' but fails to correctly use a quotation from the excerpt.

The excerpt from Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal is best summarized by stating that it describes a sarcastic suggestion made by Swift to deal with poverty by having the poor sell their children as food for the rich. This suggestion was a satirical way to criticize the British ruling class and their treatment of the Irish poor.

The correct answer as to which best describes the summary is that it effectively paraphrases the excerpt but does not correctly use a quotation. The summary captures the essence of Swift's satirical tone and the extreme nature of the proposed solution, but it doesn't directly quote any part of the excerpt. Swift uses irony to highlight the absurdity and inhumanity of the socio-economic policies of the time.

How does mrs.whites reaction compare to that of mr.white after the third wish has been granted

The question is incomplete, here is the complete question.

Read the excerpt from "The Monkey's Paw."

But her husband was on his hands and knees groping wildly on the floor in search of the paw. If he could only find it before the thing outside got in. A perfect fusillade of knocks reverberated through the house, and he heard the scraping of a chair as his wife put it down in the passage against the door. He heard the creaking of the bolt as it came slowly back, and at the same moment he found the monkey's paw, and frantically breathed his third and last wish.

The knocking ceased suddenly, although the echoes of it were still in the house. He heard the chair drawn back, and the door opened. A cold wind rushed up the staircase, and a long loud wail of disappointment and misery from his wife gave him courage to run down to her side, and then to the gate beyond. The street lamp flickering opposite shone on a quiet and deserted road.

Answers

Answer: Not coming in contact with other people, or staying at lest six feet apart when out of your home

Explanation:

i watch the news

Social distancing refers to the practice of maintaining physical space between individuals to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, which became especially prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic. It involved staying at least six feet apart in public spaces and affected interpersonal communication, leading to decreased personal interactions and increased isolation. The pandemic imposed a more uniform approach to personal space beyond varied cultural norms.

Social distancing is a public health practice that aims to prevent or slow down the spread of infectious diseases by maintaining a physical distance between people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this term became part of our everyday vocabulary as we endeavored to practise social distancing, following the recommendations to stay at least two meters (approximately six feet) apart in all public spaces to mitigate virus transmission. Additionally, social distancing had implications for interpersonal communication, altering the way we interact with each other at workplaces, schools, and social settings, often leading to reduced personal communication and a sense of isolation.

The practice gained further significance as it was understood that COVID-19 spreads more easily in crowded indoor environments than outdoors. Recognizing the challenges many face in accessing outdoor spaces for recreational and health purposes, especially among minoritized racial-ethnic groups, showcased the importance of equitable urban planning and resources distribution during public health crises.

Social and cultural norms previously dictated various acceptable social distances for different kinds of relationships and settings, as explained by Noller (2006) and Fujita et al. (2006). However, the pandemic necessitated a more uniform approach to personal space, prioritizing health over social conventions. As noted by an infection prevention specialist, adherence to social distancing was essential in combating the virus.

After analyzing the scenario, the claim element of an argument is underlined in the excerpt. Thus, option 'B' is the correct option.

How do you write a claim in an argument?

Your claim statement should be the logical conclusion you arrived at after reading and comprehending the relevant, credible evidence. You should provide readers with evidence they may weigh in order to draw their own conclusions rather than expecting them to accept your assertion as true. It's crucial to understand that just because you can locate evidence to support your claim, it doesn't automatically follow that your claim is a true statement.

Moreover, there is just as much evidence refuting a claim as there is supporting it. The purpose of expressing a claim in writing is to support it with a logical, fact-based argument. Depending on how well you explain your point and how much the reader knows or feels about the subject, they will decide whether or not they agree with your argument.

Mr. Webb: Every man that's ever lived has felt that way about it, George; but it hasn't been any use. It's the womenfolk who've built up weddings, my boy. For a while now the women have it all their own. A man looks pretty small at a wedding, George. All those good women standing shoulder to shoulder making sure that the knot's tied in a mighty public way.

...

Mr. Webb: Oh, yes; oh, yes. Don't you misunderstand me, my boy. Marriage is a wonderful thing; wonderful thing. And don't you forget that, George.

In one or two sentences of at least one hundred words, explain how this passage exemplifies Wilder's use of contradictions in Act II.

Answers

The passage exemplifies Wilder's use of contradictions in Act II by highlighting the tension between the societal expectations of marriage and the individual experiences of men within that institution.

Mr. Webb acknowledges the grandeur and communal importance of weddings, which are traditionally orchestrated by women, while simultaneously suggesting that men feel overshadowed and insignificant during the ceremony. This contradiction is further emphasized by his assertion that marriage itself is a ""wonderful thing,"" despite the implications that the process leading up to it marginalizes the male perspective. The juxtaposition of the public celebration of marriage with the private sentiments of men like George reveals the complex dynamics at play in the social construct of matrimony, as depicted by Wilder.

In the passage, Mr. Webb reflects on the societal construct of weddings, which he attributes to the influence of ""womenfolk."" He describes the ceremony as a moment where women assert control and ensure the union is solidified ""in a mighty public way."" This portrayal underscores the traditional gender roles and the public spectacle that weddings have become, largely due to female influence. However, he contrasts this with the feelings of men, including George, who may feel diminished or inconsequential in this feminine-dominated space. This is the first contradiction: the public affirmation of a union versus the private feelings of marginalization experienced by men.

Despite this, Mr. Webb swiftly pivots to affirm the inherent value of marriage, calling it a ""wonderful thing."" This sudden shift from a critique of the wedding process to an endorsement of marriage itself encapsulates a second contradiction. It suggests that while the ceremonial aspects may be flawed or unbalanced, the institution of marriage retains its significance and desirability. This reflects the complexity of human emotions and societal norms, as individuals may simultaneously hold positive views of marriage while harboring reservations about its rituals.

Wilder's use of contradictions serves to illuminate the multifaceted nature of social customs and personal sentiments. By presenting these conflicting viewpoints within a single passage, Wilder invites the audience to consider the broader implications of marriage as both a public and private event, and how these events are shaped by and impact the individuals involved. The contradictions are not merely for dramatic effect but are a reflection of the nuanced human experience, where feelings of joy and apprehension can coexist, and where traditional roles can both unite and divide.

The choice between losing the ability to read or losing the ability to speak is a deeply personal one predicated on an individual's priorities, passions, and lifestyle. If I were to choose, I'd rather lose the ability to speak. While speech is a vital tool for communication, in today's technologically-advanced era, there are other ways to express thoughts and emotions, such as via written texts or sign language.

Describe at least two ways to organize your information effectively. Choose the method that would work best for you and explain why

Answers

Answer:

One way to organize information effectively is to write it out into an essay or a paragraph. This way, the information is not simply scattered around, but put into a neat text.

Another way to organize information effectively is to display it through a slideshow or powerpoint. The various information can be organized by slides.

I prefer organizing information into slideshows because I find it more interesting, as well as easier for me to navigate. For instance, each slide may contain its own definitions and information based on category. However, in an written response, one would need to create a lot of indentations and paragraphs, even if the fact is only a sentence long. Meanwhile, in a powerpoint, each slide would contain a fact and the presentation would not look nearly as messy. Additionally, during a presentation, powerpoints are simply more appealing to the audience, rather than a "read - off" off the paper.
