Answer 1

Answer:

A

Explanation:

The central belief of Egyptian religion is the afterlife

Answer 2

The afterlife of the following beliefs was central to Egyptian religion. The correct option is a.

How did the Egyptian prepare for the afterlife?

Menna had to be mummified because the Ancient Egyptians thought doing so was required for their belief that preserving their body was essential for a successful transition into the afterlife. His internal organs had been removed, and the stomach, liver, lungs, and intestines had been stored in canopic jars.

The afterlife was central to Egyptian religion because the ancient Egyptians believed in the concept of life after death. They believed that after a person died, their soul or "ka" would journey to the afterlife, where it would be judged by Osiris, the god of the afterlife.

The soul's fate in the afterlife depended on how well the person had lived their life on Earth, and how well they had been prepared for the journey by having proper burial rites performed.

Thus, the ideal selection is option a.

In an essay of at least 500 words, describe how the Industrial Revolution impacted American society economically, socially, politically, and morally. Be sure to cite specific examples.

Thanks!!

Answers

Okay, so the industrial revolution allowed the transition from handmaking and doing work person by person, to manufacturing processes.
Economically: food wise, everything became cheaper and all food was cheap since the places it came from was easier to come across. instead of having people pick and grow crops by hand (which takes a very long time), manufacturing and machines came about and allowed crops to be easily and quickly grown/harvested.
Socially: there was a large increase in wealth among people as much was cheaper and they could have more profit from what they sold, and the education increased since people no longer had to work for long hours every day. machines took over the work force, allowing people to not work and get an education. There was also a large population increase since people could support larger families.
Politically: kind of goes along with economic changes, but the US rose as a global economic power and the expansion of the American economy had international repercussions like the opening of relations with japan and fast territorial growth.
Morally: i’m not sure how to help here, i suggest you read The Moral Dilemmas of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on World Economic Forum.

How did prohibition effect corruption in the early 1900s?

Answers

Prohibition increased corruption in the United States during the early 1900's.

Prohibition was a period in which the sale and distribution of alcohol was illegal in the United States.  This was done through a constitutional ban on production and sale of alcohol.  It was outlawed but this did not prevent people from wanting to consume it.  When there is demand for a good, even if it is outlawed, there will be supply.

People started to trade alcohol and since it was an illegal activity it gave big profits to those risking doing it and violence between trading groups started, just like with any other illegal activity. Gang groups started to compete for territory control over alcohol trading and this widespred in the country specially in big cities like Chicago with criminals such as Al Capone.

Corruption was a natural effect of this alcohol ban, since these criminal groups used bribes and corruption tactics to keep their illegal business running.

Prohibition increased corruption because people ignored the law.

William Penn dislike the cities because he felt depressed by the mood of the crowded and dirty city and his ailing father and that made him return to Ireland.

He staved off crowded conditions like London by promoting low population density by the allocation of people in large plots of land where they were able to have a garden. He designed a city plan with streets wider than any major thoroughfare in London. Moreover, five major squares dotted the cityscape, and Penn wished each dweller had a family garden.

To encourage low population density, William Penn distributed land in big parcels

Penn selected a site much carefully. Philadelphia is placed at the confluence of the Schuylkill  and Delaware rivers. He expected the Delaware river to supply the needed outlet to the Atlantic and tthe Schuylkill to be the needed artery into the interior of Pennsylvania.

Penn location for Philadelphia was contested as The leaders of Maryland claimed the land Philadelphia located in Maryland.

Philadelphia was a place of religious tolerance, its spirit fueled the independence. The first European settlers on the site were Swedes. They stablished a community at the mouth of the Schuykill. Later on, England established its control over the whole region, and in 1681, King Charles II made William Penn a grant of land that became Pennsylvania. Philadephia's guiding principle was tolerance towards all faiths. The city developed a thriving trade with the West Indies and became the largest and most important city in the colonies

Philadelphia became an important colonial city and during the American Revolution represented the site of the First and Second Continental Congresses. After the Revolution it was chosen to be the temporary capital of the United States. At early 19th century, the federal and state governments left Philadelphia. However, the city remained the financial and cultural center of the nation. Philadelphia also turnt into one of the first U.S. industrial centers and contained different industries, the largest one were  textiles.

Final answer:

William Penn disliked cities due to crowded conditions and wanted to prevent them in Philadelphia. He sold land to Quakers, recruited settlers, and chose a strategic location for the city. Early Philadelphia had religious tolerance and economic opportunities, becoming an important port city in America.

Explanation:

William Penn disliked cities because of their crowded conditions and the negative aspects associated with urbanization, such as pollution and crime. He hoped to prevent crowded conditions like London by designing and founding a new city, Philadelphia, with an emphasis on low population density.

To encourage low population density, Penn sold plots of land to fellow Quakers, who in turn could distribute them to settlers. He also recruited settlers from all over Europe, promising equal rights and financial opportunities.

Penn chose the site for Philadelphia because of its strategic location on the Delaware River, which allowed for easy transportation and trade. However, the location was contested because of conflicting land claims by both the English and the Native Americans.

Life in early Philadelphia was characterized by religious tolerance, economic opportunities, and a diverse population. The city became important in early America due to its role as a thriving port city, attracting Quaker merchants, and immigrants, and serving as a center of trade.

Explanation:

The Kyoto Protocol is an international environmental treaty adopted in December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan. This treaty focuses on committing participating countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with the goal of achieving stabilization of these gases in the atmosphere at a level that prevents dangerous human interference with the climate system. It emphasizes that developed countries bear the brunt of the responsibility for the high levels of greenhouse gases due to over 150 years of industrial activity.

Under the Kyoto Protocol, nations must attempt to meet their emission reduction targets through national measures alongside market-based mechanisms such as international emissions trading and clean energy development. The treaty entered into force in 2005, aiming for a collective reduction in global emissions by 5.2 percent by 2012. It is recognized as a first-step approach towards effective international policies to tackle climate change, though it has not been without its challenges in terms of negotiation, scope, and balancing competitiveness with compliance.

Why were the discoveries of astronomers like Galileo seen as radical and a threat to Church authority? What was the new idea that they proposed?

When you have prepared your answer, click the "Start" button below. Be sure your answer is in paragraph form and is at least 7 sentences long.

Answers

Many people consider Galileo, who stood out as a mathematician, astronomer and physicist, the "father of modern science". He was one of the first men to scrutinize the heavens with a telescope, and he used his observations to support a theory that was the subject of heated debate in his day: that the Earth revolves around the Sun and that, therefore, it is not the center of the universe. This explains why he is sometimes seen as the creator of the modern experimental method. Already at the end of the sixteenth century, Galileo had adopted the theory of Copernicus. According to this, the Earth revolves around the Sun, and not vice versa, what is known as a heliocentric system. In 1610 he discovered with his telescope celestial bodies that had never been observed before, and he was convinced that he had found confirmation of this theory.

In 1611, Galileo traveled to Rome to meet with senior ecclesiastical officials. But, although he used the telescope to show them his astronomical discoveries, things did not turn out as he had expected. By 1616, Galileo was officially the object of investigation. The theologians of the Roman Inquisition described the heliocentric theory as "philosophically insensate and absurd, and formally heretical, since in many aspects it explicitly contradicts the sentences of the Holy Scriptures in their literal meaning, their common interpretation and the opinion of the Saints. Parents and doctors of theology. "

Galileo was sentenced on June 22, 1633 in an austere courtroom before the members of the inquisitorial tribunal. He was found guilty of "having defended and believed the false doctrine, contrary to the Sacred and Divine Scriptures, that the Sun [...] does not move from east to west, and that the Earth moves and is not the center of the world".

Galileo put forward the theory of a heliocentric solar system. That theory affirms that planets revolve around the Sun at the center of solar system. His findings confirmed Copernicus’s prior theory about a sun-centered system. Copernicus´ book “On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres” had been banned by the church.  That theory was very controversial and the Catholic Church classified it as a heresy and warned Galileo to abandon it .Galileo was convicted of grave suspicion of heresy for following the idea of Copernicus, which is contrary to the true sense and authority of Holy Scripture. As a result, he was placed under house  arrest for life. The problem was that all this controversy made people doubt about the church's thinking and the fact  that church controlled “all the truth”
