Which event led to panic as Vietnamese tried to leave the country in April 1975?
Walking is not the most exciting form of exercise a person can take on for fitness. Yet it is low impact and requires no fancy equipment. That makes walking a simple activity for those new to exercise. Walking is less likely than other exercises to cause injury to leg tendons and muscles. All it requires is a good pair of sneakers—no cables, stylish outfits, or weights required. Of course, a person could increase the benefit of a workout by adding weights or speed walking.
How does the third sentence ("That makes walking...") support the main idea of the paragraph?
It points out that walking is a good introduction to exercise for beginners.
It says that walking is too easy for people who have experience with exercise.
It points out that beginning exercisers may not like walking because it is too easy.
It says that walking is less costly than other activities because it needs no equipment.

Why does Rodriguez call himself “an impure American, an ambiguous American “? How does the info about his background affect the persuasive of his argument?
This is due to the complication of the elements of his name, the color of his skin and his heritage which makes the American conversation about race more difficult.
Actually his personal background had a decreasing effect on the persuasiveness of his argument. This is actually what we call a minority effect – people tend to less believe anyone who does not resemble his color or race.
Rodriguez writes in Blaxicans:
I am speaking to you in American English that was taught me by Irish nuns—immigrant women. I wear an Indian face; I answer to a Spanish surname as well as this California first name, Richard. You might wonder about the complexity of historical factors, the collision of centuries, that creates Richard Rodriguez. My brownness is the illustration of that collision, or the bland memorial of it. I stand before you as an Impure- American, an Ambiguous-American.
He claims that there is no logical meaning behind Pure-American concept. He lives inc the US and if it has to be defined you have to be an American or in other words Pure-American, then how many people are living in the USA that maybe they have to check their background. Ironically, it is nonsense because there is no logic behind it. Therefore, Rodriguez buries the claims of Pure-American by these lines.

this assignment was comparing the book to the movie of the glass castle, can someone please tell me if I have any mistakes!!!!
The Glass Castle
The movie version of The Glass Castle did a very good job of portraying the book. But, there are many differences and similarities from the movie version and the book version.
In the movie version of the glass castle many details are left out. For example, in the book we are first are introduced to Jeannette as an adult in New York living in a high end apartment with her husband, but in the movie he was only her fiancé. Also, in the book we only see adult Jennette in the beginning and the end of the book but but in the movie we jump back and forth from adult Jennette to child Jannette.
Even though the movie was a little different from the book, there were many similarities. For example, in the book Jannette gets burned at three years old when she was cooking hot dogs all by her self, and that also happens in the movie. Another example is in both the movie and the book, Jannette’s mom Rosemary, finds a ugly tree in the dessert that she decides to paint a portrait of it. The major theme of both the book and the movie is forgiveness, “Everyone has something good about them,’ she said. ‘You have to find the redeeming quality and love the person for that.’ / ‘Oh yeah?” I said. ‘How about Hitler? What was he redeeming quality?’/ ‘Hitler loved dogs,’Mom said without hesitation” (Walls 144)
In my opinion the book is better because it describes more details about the family, where they live, how they act, and the sequence of events. In the movie the character of Jeannette and her older sister Lori differ from the book because in the book they are more anxious to escape their crazy family and move to New York. In the book the plot does not differ from the movie.
Final answer:
The film adaptation of 'The Glass Castle' differs from the book, particularly in the depiction of Jeannette's life and timeline, but retains key events and the theme of forgiveness.
Explanation:
When comparing the movie version of 'The Glass Castle' to the original memoir by Jeanette Walls, we can pinpoint several differences and similarities. The book provides a more comprehensive account of Jeannette's life, from her dysfunctional family dynamics to her determination to move to New York, which is depicted with greater depth and subtlety than in the movie. In both versions, key events such as Jeannette's childhood burn incident and her mother Rosemary's painting of a desert tree underscore the central theme of forgiveness that permeates this poignant story. One significant alteration in the film is the representation of Jeannette's relationships and her timeline, which is more fluid and frequent in its transitions between her younger and adult selves.

How are main idea and theme related?
A. Theme is main idea.
B. Theme is the unifying main idea.
C. They are not.
D. Theme is what the author wants you to think about the main idea.
Final answer:
B. Theme is the unifying main idea.
Main idea and theme are related concepts in literature, with main idea being the central point of a text and theme being a universal message or lesson derived from the story. Theme serves as the unifying main idea that ties together different elements like plot and character to reflect on broader aspects of life.
Explanation:
The main idea and theme in literature are related but not identical concepts. The main idea is the primary point or the most important thought about a topic that an author wants to convey to the readers. On the other hand, a theme is a more universal message or lesson that the readers can take away from the story. It goes beyond the plot to offer broader insights about humanity, society, or life.
While 'theme' is related to the main idea, it can be considered the unifying main idea that connects various elements of literature like plot points, conflicts, and characters to present a cohesive message to the reader. A theme is often implied rather than explicitly stated, requiring readers to think critically about the text to discern the deeper messages. For example, in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, while the main idea may focus on the adventures and challenges of the characters, the themes may explore complex issues like friendship, freedom, and moral growth.
Given these definitions, the correct answer to how main idea and theme are related would be B. Theme is the unifying main idea. It synthesizes various components of the story to highlight a central, often more profound, idea that generally reflects on the human experience.

In the Necklace what is Madame Loisel described as
Answer:
Madame Loisel is described as a character/ woman who is selfish, ungrateful and also greedy, who complains a lot to her husband, and wants all the finer things of life.
Explanation:
The short story "The Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant tells the story of a woman married to a lowly clerk but has such high ambitions, way even above their capacity. Mrs. Loisel is characterized as a woman who finds no satisfaction in whatever her husband does. She wants to be like the rich high society women, clothed in wealth, living in big houses and living the life of a wealthy lady. But, as fate would have it, she is married to a lowly clerk, barely able to maintain the household. After he bought the ball invitation, she complains that she has no presentable dress to wear. And her husband had to give up his savings just to get her a new dress. Even then, she seems discontent, asking for an accompanying jewelry to finish her 'rich' look. And the one chance they ever had to improve their lives was shattered by her selfish need to be 'presentable' among the other ladies. She is ungrateful for all that her husband had done, greedy for the things that aren't accessible for people like them, and selfish in her attempts or efforts to look like one of the wealthier ladies. She is the perfect epitome of a person trying to emulate the ways of the social class that is way above their own ability.

we are not repetitive
we sound more educated
we can be clear in our writing
they can provide variety
they can provide economy of words
Final answer:
Pronouns are used to prevent repetition, provide clarity, and economize words in communication. They ensure sentence variety and can reflect complex gender identities, with increasing use of gender-neutral pronouns like 'they/them' for inclusivity or when the gender is unspecified.
Explanation:
We use pronouns, which are words that substitute for nouns or noun phrases, to avoid repetitive language, provide clarity, and economize words in our writing. Pronouns also offer variety in sentence structure and help us address and reflect the complexity of gender identities in the contemporary world. For instance, instead of continually repeating a noun, we might use a pronoun to make our sentences more fluent and less cumbersome.
Correct use of pronouns means ensuring that each pronoun has a clear and specific antecedent. This avoids confusion and helps maintain clarity in writing. Moreover, the evolution of language has led to the adoption of gender-neutral pronouns like 'they/them' to include nonbinary and transgender individuals respectfully or when the gender is unknown.
It's essential to understand the difference between subject personal pronouns and object personal pronouns to use them correctly. As our awareness of gender diversity increases, more people are specifying their chosen pronouns, influencing the use of language in both written and spoken communication.
