Answer 2

Answer:

Option D. Women were the group of people that redefined traditional conceptions of their group during the Roaring 20s.

Explanation:

The Roaring 20s were a decade symbolized by dramatic social and political changes. The First world War changed and reshaped how cultures were living their day to day lives. Women are often considered the biggest symbol of this era, with young women wearing short hair, smoking and dancing and taking jobs that were traditionally seen as "unladylike". As a result of the new roles women were asking to take in their communities, they gained the right to vote through the 19th Amendment and many of them gained new jobs, that put them, for the first time in history, as an important key player in the country's economy.

The only difference between the two is the action in which it was done. They are still similar because you are physically hurting another individual.

Final answer:

In the novel, Johnny says he can't shoot anybody but ends up stabbing someone. Shooting and stabbing are different actions involving causing harm to others. Johnny's statement reflects his moral objection to using a firearm.

Explanation:

In the novel The Outsiders, Johnny says, "I couldn't shoot anybody." However, he ends up stabbing someone. While both actions involve causing harm to another person, there are significant differences between shooting and stabbing.

Shooting typically involves the use of a firearm and is often done from a distance. It requires aiming and pulling a trigger to release a bullet. On the other hand, stabbing is a close-range act that involves using a sharp object, like a knife, to penetrate the victim's body.

Johnny's statement implies an unwillingness to take a life by shooting someone, which indicates his moral objection to using a gun to harm others. The fact that he resorts to stabbing instead highlights the desperation of the situation, as he is forced to defend himself or protect others at the moment.

If you know that the Romans originally settled around rome, in what direction did they move to settle the rest of italy

Answers

Answer:

They moved south to find Rome and then spread around a place now known as Italy

Explanation:

The Romans initially expanded throughout central and southern Italy, integrating areas such as Apulia and Campania. The expansion was multidirectional from Rome’s central position, both southward and northward, ultimately encompassing the entire Italian Peninsula.

The ancient Romans originally settled around the city of Rome, which was built on seven hills and surrounded by swamps in central Italy. Initially, the Romans expanded their territory by settling throughout central and southern areas of the Italian Peninsula before moving further afield. Geographical advantages such as its hills and the Tiber River, which facilitated trade, contributed significantly to Rome's ability to expand. The Romans established themselves in regions like Apulia and Campania, and eventually brought under their control territories inhabited by various Italic tribes, Etruscans, and Greek colonies in southern Italy.

Due to Rome's central location in Italy, the process of settlement and territorial acquisition extended in all directions. The Roman expansion encountered resistance from various peoples, such as the Samnites, Etruscans, and Greek colonies, but through a series of wars and diplomacy, Rome gradually subdued these peoples and incorporated their lands into its growing domain.

In Roman history, the movement of Roman settlement throughout Italy was not confined to a single direction. Instead, it progressed outward from Rome's central location predominantly southward and northward, ultimately integrating the entire Italian Peninsula under Roman control and setting the stage for further expansion across the Mediterranean world.

Shays' Rebellion was significant as it underscored the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, drawing attention to the need for a stronger federal government and leading to the Constitutional Convention.

Explanation:

Shays' Rebellion was significant because it highlighted the ineffectiveness of the Articles of Confederation, alarming national leaders and accelerating the movement to draft a new constitution. The uprising, led by Daniel Shays, involved indebted farmers in western Massachusetts who were suffering from high taxes, debt, and foreclosures. Their actions, which included attacks on courthouses, were a response to economic hardships and perceived injustices.

Despite its relatively small size, the rebellion was seen as a symptom of larger systemic problems, causing many, including George Washington, to worry about the potential for anarchy. The federal government's inability to address these issues under the existing Articles of Confederation prompted Washington and other leaders to support the creation of a stronger central government, ultimately resulting in the Constitutional Convention.

How did unemployment and an increase in population contribute to the establishment of English colonies in America

Answers

Answer:

Unemployment caused people to move to find better jobs. The population grew and the English colonies began. Hope this helps! :)

Final answer:

Unemployment and population growth in England prompted many to migrate to the English colonies in America for economic opportunities and religious freedom for Protestants.

Explanation:

The establishment of English colonies in America was significantly influenced by high levels of unemployment and an increase in population during the seventeenth century. England experienced dramatic population growth, rising from less than three million to over five million by the mid-1600s, which led to overcrowding and poverty.

Moreover, economic changes pushed many out of work due to the transition from agriculture to livestock raising and the enclosure of public lands.

These factors helped motivators of colonization to promote the Americas as a land of opportunity. Many English migrants saw the colonies as a place to escape poverty and unemployment, with the added bonus of the promise of religious freedom for Protestant groups like the Puritans.

Nag and Nagaina had planned well, but didn't think of a "plan B" in case someone were to try and interfere with their plan. The scene was full of suspense and probably had a selected few readers on the edge of their seats. Some themes I interpreted from the story are courage, bravery, and loyalty. Rikki's courage was stronger than his fear. Rikki stayed brave when fighting the cobras. Rikki remained loyal to the garden animals and Teddy's family the entire time he was fighting for their lives. Rikki only fought when needed, and was prepared when doing so.Though it was a short story, I highly recommend "Rikki Tikki Tavi" by Rudyard Kipling to those who enjoy the adventure and action genres. Despite being labelled as children's liturature, I believe many people of varying ages will enjoy reading this book. Even if you may not like the story, you can suggest it to someone you know who might.
