Answer 1

The correct answer is B) Industry would voluntarily spend money for environmental cleanup.

Conservatives believe that economic pressures would help protect the environment better than government regulation in that Industry would voluntarily spend money for environmental cleanup.

Conservatives are opposed to government regulation and that it spends money in programs to combat environmental issues or social issues. They believe that proper competition inside the industry will force companies to spend the right amount of money to fix any environmental problem because if they don't do it, consumers and clients are going to prefer other company's products and services. Today, consumers are more aware and worried about environmental issues and they can decide who to do business with.

Chinese ships during the Ming dynasty were different from European ships because _______.

Answers

Answer:

they were much larger, and were treasure ships

Explanation:

The ships of the Chinese during the Ming dynasty were anything but like their European counterparts. These ships were enormous, making the European ships look like little toys compared to them. Also, the European ships were specialized for trade, while the ships of the Ming dynasty had another purpose, something that was unimaginable to the Europeans, delivering treasures. While the European ships were specialized for trade in order for the Europeans to gain some wealth, the Ming dynasty didn't really needed wealth, as it actually had a lot of it. Instead, the Ming dynasty decided that they should send some ships to deliver treasures along the coastline of the Indian Ocean. This is why even nowadays, lot of artifacts of Chinese origin can be found even on the eastern coast of Africa from the period of the Ming dynasty.

Final answer:

The Ming dynasty's policy regarding foreign trade fluctuated based on economic need and control of foreign influences, affecting ship usage. However, the most noticeable difference was that Chinese ships were generally larger, more advanced, and carried a greater variety of goods than European ships at that time.

Explanation:

Chinese ships during the Ming dynasty were notably different from European ships due to various reasons. First, the maritime policy of the Ming dynasty often fluctuated based on a combination of economic need and the desire to control foreign influence. For instance, the first Ming emperor, Hongwu, initially prohibited foreign trade. However, as the Ming dynasty needed financial resources to sustain projects such as the construction of the Forbidden City and the extension of the Grand Canal, a change in policy occurred in 1567 that permitted foreign trade again.

Also, the design of the Chinese ships was significantly different. They were generally larger and more technologically advanced than their European counterparts, being capable of longer voyages, carrying more goods and passengers, and better equipped to handle difficult sea conditions. These ships are often referred to as 'treasure ships'.

In contrast, the European ships of that era, such as Spanish galleons, while capable and robust in their own right, focused more on the transport of precious metals than on varied trade goods. The European ships primarily transported silver from mines in the Americas to China, while Chinese ships carried a variety of valued and exotic goods, such as silk, satins, taffetas, velvet, damasks, brocades, and porcelain to foreign lands.

D. Education reform

Answers

Education reform should be the answer of that question.

Answer:

D

Explanation:

It wasn't campaign financing. Money was not on anyone's mind until Clinton came along and made it an issue.

Defense spending was in the same category. People still believed what President Johnson (LBJ) said about guns and butter.

It wasn't gun control. The 2nd amendment had not quite become an issue.

Education Reform is your closest answer. Pat Buchanan made quite an issue about the need to stop Private Schools from being picked on. Education is closer to cultural reform than any of the others.

To prevent one branch from taking too much power, the Constitutional Convention set up a system of:

A) checks and balances

B) executive branches

C) national courts

Answers

Hello There!

Your answer is “A” checks and balances

Have a great day

Answer:

A) checks and balances

Explanation:

The system of Checks and Balances is the system whereby all three branches of the government (the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial) respond to the action of the other and oversee, limit and check the other in order to prevent one branch from becoming too powerful and abuse of its power.

For example, under this system, the Judicial branch has the authority to declare the unconstitutionality of laws passed by the Legislative and acts of the Executive, and at the same time, the President is responsible for appointing the Justices of the Supreme Court, and the Legislative is responsible for confirming or rejecting those nominees.

Final answer:

The Russian Revolution of 1917 led to the withdrawal of Russia from World War I, with the Bolshevik Party's rise to power anchored in their antiwar stance, culminating in the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. This significantly altered the dynamics of World War I, relieving the Central Powers by ending the two-front war and Russia's involvement in the conflict.

Explanation:

The Russian Revolution of 1917 had a profound impact on Russia's involvement in World War I. Following years of mounting dissatisfaction with the Tsarist regime and the strains War I had put on Russian society, the October Revolution, led by the Bolsheviks, resulted in the withdrawal of Russia from the war. After seizing power, Lenin (leadership of the Bolshevik Party) fulfilled his promise to end Russia's participation in the war by signing the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk with Germany in March 1918. This exit from the war relieved the Central Powers on the Eastern Front, allowing them to concentrate their forces elsewhere but also ended the massive casualties and material losses Russia was sustaining.

The Bolsheviks' rise to power was facilitated by their appeal to the war-weary Russian public, whose support they gained by advocating an end to participation in the War. Once in power, the Bolsheviks implemented measures aligned with their Marxist-Leninist ideology, establishing the world's first Marxist-inspired state which led to the implementation of a one-party authoritarian dictatorship, in stark contrast to the more egalitarian society some supporters had hoped for. It is important to note that the correct answer to the question based on the provided choices is Option B: The Bolshevik Party rose to power partly because of its fierce antiwar activism.

What made General Lee think that his plan on the third day of Gettysburg would work? He felt the Union was weak in the center. Both of the Union flanks had been attacked. There were few cannons to fire at his army. The South came very close to winning the first two days. multiple choices

Answers

Answer:

The South came very close to winning the first two days.

Explanation:

General Lee had come so close to winning the day before that he sent Pickett and his men on a charge( known as Pickett's Charge). The union open fired on the charge and then New York, Ohio, and Vermont regiments flanked them on both sides. Most of the confederates were wiped out. Including 2/3 of Pickett's division.

General Lee thought his plan on the third day of Gettysburg would work because both of the Union flanks had been attacked. The option (B) is correct.

Having already launched significant attacks on both flanks of the Union line over the preceding two days, he anticipated that the Union forces would be weakened and stretched thin.

Lee hoped to exploit what he perceived as a vulnerable center in the Union line, which he believed had been left relatively unguarded. Additionally, the South had come remarkably close to victory on the first two days of the battle, boosting Lee's confidence in his overall strategy.

This question is not complete, Here I am attaching the complete question:

What made General Lee think that his plan on the third day of Gettysburg would work?

(A) He felt the Union was weak in the center.

(B) Both of the Union flanks had been attacked.

(C) There were few cannons to fire at his army.

(D) The South came very close to winning the first two days.

Although there have always been people that oppose gays from serving in the military, like religious groups and other members of the society, there are increasing numbers that support the integration of gays into the United States armed forces. In recent years, many surveys have asked people their opinion on the issue and most favored them to openly participate in the military. How did opponent of the civil Rights act of 1964 use the filibuster to try to block its passage

Answers

Answer: In the 1950s and 1960s, a wave of protest aimed at ending discrimination and segregation against African Americans, especially in the South, brought civil rights to the forefront of national debate. Civil rights had its champions in Congress, but they had to work to surmount institutional impediments in the House and Senate to pass the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Explanation: House opposition to the Civil Rights bill took the form of keeping it bottled up in the House Rules Committee. In the Senate, opponents attempted to talk the bill to death in a filibuster. In early 1964 supporters overcame the Rules Committee obstacle by threatening to send the bill to the floor without committee approval. The Senate filibuster was overcome through the floor leadership of Senator Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota, the support of President Lyndon Johnson, and the efforts of Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen of Illinois, in convincing Republicans to support the bill.

Its genre lies under children's adventure short stories.A mongoose named Rikki was caught in a flood that took him far from his home. A family rescued and took him into their home. The cobras living in the family's garden disliked Rikki, and try to scare him away. Since the snakes' original plan did not work, they try attacking Rikki and the family. While Rikki's friends did help him, he did do most of the work getting rid of the evil snakes and saving both the family and the garden. The setting takes place at Teddys familys property. Teddy and his family were the ones who found and saved Rikki, and later welcomed him into their home. Most of the story, there is a suspenseful mood. You don't know what will happen next with all of the action and adventure happening. Once the conflict is resovled and the characters or readers learn the lesson, there is a happy and content mood. There is peace within the home and garden between the owners and animals. The author's tone within the story is serious and a bit scary. The author wanted to make the reader feel fearful of what would happen next. However, sometimes the author would write lightheartedly to show that Rikki is loving and playful when with Teddy's family. One event in the story "Rikki Tikki Tavi" that I found interesting was when Nag and Nagaina were plotting how to get rid of Teddy's family and Rikki. Not only was it intense since these were important characters, but because the author made it seem as if the antagonists were going to get the happy ending. Nag and Nagaina had planned well, but didn't think of a "plan B" in case someone were to try and interfere with their plan. The scene was full of suspense and probably had a selected few readers on the edge of their seats. Some themes I interpreted from the story are courage, bravery, and loyalty. Rikki's courage was stronger than his fear. Rikki stayed brave when fighting the cobras. Rikki remained loyal to the garden animals and Teddy's family the entire time he was fighting for their lives. Rikki only fought when needed, and was prepared when doing so.Though it was a short story, I highly recommend "Rikki Tikki Tavi" by Rudyard Kipling to those who enjoy the adventure and action genres. Despite being labelled as children's liturature, I believe many people of varying ages will enjoy reading this book.
